Give PKD the Bump:
The Campaign

Even though Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is the most common inherited kidney disease people are mostly unaware of it, and as a result fundraising is often limited.

The Give PKD the Bump campaign will spread awareness of PKD in a fun and simple way, providing the public with a number of different ways to get involved. The campaign aims to encourage charitable donations that will fund scientific research into understanding PKD and provide hope and support for people with PKD.

What is Give PKD the Bump?

Two simple goals...

Give PKD the Bump has been developed with two simple goals

1
to drive
awareness

2
to raise
money

In achieving these goals, we will be able to fund essential medical research and provide support services for people with PKD.

How Can We Accomplish this?

The PKD fist is a symbol that shows that we are striving for fist-sized kidneys for everybody. Working together with you, we can achieve our mission through a culmination of fundraising and awareness activities.

It all starts with a fist bump...

Fundraising Events

Help us raise awareness of PKD in your local area. Holding an awareness event is not only a good excuse to have some fun, but is also a great way to help people to understand the condition and its impact on the lives of those affected. Fundraising events are an important way to spread awareness whilst raising money for PKD.

Social Media

We are increasing awareness of PKD through social media, shared by you and driven by the hashtag: #BumpPKD. The social element of the campaign reaches people across a range of media channels, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, encouraging the public to get involved.

Posts with informative facts about PKD sit next to examples of how people are getting involved across Europe. You can get involved by ‘fist bumping’ with your family members and friends, before nominating three others in your network to do the same. By creating your own viral video you can help make people aware of PKD and encourage your friends to do the same

PKD Pin Badges

By purchasing a PKD pin badge you can show your support for the fight against PKD, as well as helping to raise money.

You can wear the pin badge with pride and find out more information about PKD from the accompanying leaflet.
